And if you want to learn more about head and neck cancer, you will find no shortage of research, recommendations and more online. But beware, there are a plenty of websites that are suspect — where people are posing as experts and not providing accurate information. When you take to the Web for the latest information on cancer research and treatments, we encourage you to visit the following websites from reputable organizations.

American Cancer Society - Founded in 1913, the American Cancer Society is a leading nationwide organization committed to educating the public about cancer, including prevention tips, treatment information and more. The website provides information about all types of the disease, including head and neck cancers. As the largest voluntary health organization in the United States, the ACS also raises funds for cancer research

National Cancer Institute - Established in 1937 by an act of Congress, the National Cancer Institute is one of the 27 institutes that make up the U.S. government’s National Institutes of Health (NIH). The institute is responsible for conducting and supporting cancer research and training physicians and scientists. The NCI also provides information to the public on cancer detection, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and more through its website and other channels.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention - The CDC helps lead efforts to ease the burden of cancer by working with national cancer organizations, state agencies and others. The CDC’s website provides information on cancer research, treatment and more.

American Institute for Cancer Research - The AICR funds research on diet, nutrition and cancer. The organization’s website provides nutrition information for before, during and after treatment.
